Fast paced fun. Touching and tawdry. Churchies, crooks, and rapscallions scheme to close our only gay bar, rape a forest, and get rich with a gay hating charter school. Into Sight is a series of journal entries made while Pat Vint discovered the world that had been hidden from her for over 60 years. Born nearly blind and unable to focus because of Nystagmus, Pat learned to fake it. She lived in a unfocussed, 2 dimensional world.
A shape up ahead might be a mailbox or a person. She couldn’t tell, so she didn’t try. In school, she sat alone, because she couldn’t tell where her friends were sitting. Still, she gained enough sight to drive. She earned a Master’s degree and became a licensed Child and Family Counselor.
Finally, at over 60 years old, she underwent a series of unorthodox treatments called Vision Therapy and MST, which were successful in curing her Nystagmus. Shortly after, with the addition of prism glasses, she was able to see the world in 3 dimensions.
Frightening and wonderful, Pat turned to writing to make sense of the changes she was experiencing in her world. You are welcomed to come along and see that change is always an option, no matter what age and while the ride may be bumpy, it is always a joy.
